My vision for Europe

I have a vision for Europe where we all share in Europe's prosperity. Where tolerance and mutual respect are the cornerstones of our diverse communities and where, in partnership with Socialists across Europe, we create a better world for everyone.

Dear Member,

Labour Party members across London are being asked to vote in the selection of Labour's Euro MPs
for the European Elections in 2004.

This website will set out why you should vote for me as the No.1 candidate.

It was my privilege to serve as a Euro candidate at the last election. This time I would like to serve
London as a Euro MP. I am currently a local Councillor in Bexley. With my help, Bexley was the
only London borough Labour won from the Tories in this year's local elections.

As a father I know that Europe is important for my children's future. As your Euro MP, I promise I
will work for:

• a prosperous Europe providing workers with jobs and security
• tougher environmental action, promoting re-cycling and using cleaner, renewable resources
• safer food and reform of the wasteful Common Agricultural Policy
• help for developing nations with fairer trade relations and overseas aid
• an inclusive Europe - valuing Europe's diversity and respecting various cultures
• a fairer Europe - offering maximum opportunities for young and old
